Ophthalmic Technician

As a technician, you are responsible for carrying out diagnostic procedures and evaluations according to the standard procedures of the clinic, including but not limited to:
- Efficiently and accurately documenting patient information and patient history
- Taking and recording visual acuities, intraocular pressure, and other tests as required
- Accurately using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (OCT, Tonopen, and Fundus Camera)
- Administering eye drops
- Recording of findings in an Accuro EMR
- Discussions with patients regarding procedures, surgeries, treatment plans and medication use
- Assisting and preparing patients during in-office procedures (laser, injections)
- Maintaining and cleaning of exam rooms including monitoring of supplies
- Reprocessing of surgical instruments
- Drafting letters and correspondence (as needed)
- Performing additional administrative tasks necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic
**Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Minimum 1 year previous experience in a medical care setting (preferred)
- Customer service oriented with an aptitude to deal professionally and respectfully with patients
- EMR - Accuro experience (preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, be self-motivated and have strong organizational skills
- Team player
- Enjoy working in a face-paced environment
- Punctual and reliable
**Salary**: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
