Cafeteria Assistant

Home Hardware has a fantastic opportunity to join our Cafeteria team as a **Cafeteria Assistant.** Reporting to the Cafeteria Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and serving of meals, supporting customers for payment and processing, point of sale system operations, and general sanitary maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria area.

**What you’ll do**:

- Assist with serving meals as quickly as possible, refilling steamers, and condiment containers as needed.
- Assist with food preparation.
- Assist with handling cash and point of sale system during breaks and meals.
- Assist with maintaining cafeteria and kitchen as to cleanliness, condition of equipment and furnishings, food quality and ensures adherence to established standards.
- Stock vending machines.
- Assist with grocery order put away.

**What we’re looking for**:

- High school diploma with experience in food preparation and basic knowledge of cafeteria functions.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler Certification.
- Familiar with proper sanitary practices of maintenance of kitchen and handling of food.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting.
- Willingness to work additional hours if needed.
