The Chair champions the program and ensures student success through instructional and curriculum excellence. As Program champion, the Chair is considered a content expert and is responsible to support program development and growth; high quality and relevant curriculum; industry liaison; program promotional activities and identifying and recommending revenue generation opportunities. Striving for academic excellence, the Chair is also responsible to identify and promote instructor learning/development opportunities, perform teaching observations, provide coaching and mentoring, and promote the health and the well-being of staff and students. The Chair promotes applied research activity within the program through collaboration and participation on related projects.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Mentor, motivate, coach and provide guidance to instructors to ensure instructor excellence within the Program
Participate in the recruitment, selection and orientation of the program team dedicated to NAIT's vision, promises and values
Work closely with the Associate Dean to ensure the timely and effective leadership of the program with a focus on staff support and student success
Recommend staff development opportunities for the instructional staff to the Associate Dean
Provide instruction to students and fulfill instructional responsibilities
Encourage and promote research activities at the Program instructional level
Implement best practices related to curriculum management to ensure courses and programs offered are relevant and of the highest quality
Lead the Program in striving for continual quality improvement
Participate in activities that relate to student recruitment, retention and program promotion
Engage in discussions for fair and equitable program team workloads and schedules
Engage with industry, external stakeholders as well as other post-secondary institutions for the purpose of ensuring relevancy of Program related content and equipment
Complete the necessary leadership training as recommended
Some evenings and weekends may be required

**Qualifications**:
Related diploma required. Degree preferred.
Current active license with related regulatory body as required
Previous leadership/supervisory experience
Valid Class 5 driver's license required
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
**Remuneration**: As outlined in the NASA Collective Agreement.
