Abbotsford, Canada Whitetail Homes Group of Companies Full time

_Whitetail Homes_ is a real estate developer and general contractor specializing in the construction of condos in the Lower Mainland. We are currently looking for a full-time Controller to oversee the accounting function, lead our growing team, and manage financial reporting. The Controller will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee accounts payable, month-end close, intercompany reconciliations and other general accounting functions as required.
- Coordinate and prepare both internal and external financial reporting, including job cost analysis and budget updates.
- Manage loan draws, monitor cash flows, and assist with loan acquisitions and lender reporting.
- Prepare and file SD, GST, EHT & WCB returns.
- Oversee Payroll and Benefits, hire and retain skilled accounting staff.
- Prepare and file provincial and federal government returns specific to the land development & real estate entities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations & standards as well as the company’s internal controls and processes.
- Oversee a team of 2 accounting professionals.
- Ad hoc financial planning and reporting as required by senior management.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5-8 years of accounting experience.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (preferred but not required)
- Experience working in the real estate or construction industry is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 is preferred.
- Public accounting experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
