Are you a creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for shaping online narratives? The University of Regina is seeking a dynamic **Web Strategist** to play a pivotal role in our Communications and Marketing Team. As a Web Strategist, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our digital content aligns seamlessly with the university’s goals and objectives.

As a key member of our team, you will take charge of the university’s public-facing web presence and internal-facing UR Source website. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing comprehensive web content strategies, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, leading content creation projects, and analyzing performance metrics to enhance our online effectiveness.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Content Strategy and Planning**:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive institutional web content strategy.
- Create monthly or weekly content plans/calendar based on website analytics.
- Lead central strategy and management of UR Source, the University’s ‘intranet’ site.
- **Strategic Content Collaboration**:

- Foster collaboration with faculties and units to ensure content aligns with university messaging.
- Create effective workflows and communication channels for streamlined content creation.
- Support stakeholders on UR Source and during campus emergencies.
- **Content Creation, Review and Editing**:

- Create and edit engaging, informative, and accessible content.
- Review content submissions for quality, accuracy, and adherence to guidelines.
- Implement and enforce SEO best practices across all content pieces.
- **Digital Marketing & Performance Analytics**:

- Design custom dimensions and metrics for performance evaluation.
- Gather and analyze performance metrics to enhance content effectiveness.
- Execute university-wide digital campaigns and optimize based on performance.
- **Training, Policy, and Professional Development**:

- Provide training and support for content contributors.
- Develop and enforce web policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices for innovative content creation.

Position Requirements

**What You’ll Bring to the Position**:

- An undergraduate degree in Business (Marketing), Communications, Computer Science, or other related field; and
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in digital communications.

**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role**:

- Proven experience in strategic web content planning and management, with a focus on project management and team leadership.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with an emphasis on meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience writing for the web
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience reviewing and editing written content.
- Knowledge of best practices for website accessibility.
- Experience using web analytics to create relevant reporting.
- Proficiency working in content management systems (CMS) with a WYSIWIG editor.
- Proficiency in handling various types of media content (images, videos, documents) within a CMS, including uploading, resizing, proper formatting, and basic knowledge of HTML editor fundamentals.
- Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to generate engaging and shareable content that moves the University’s goals forward online.
- Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and a commitment to staying informed about digital marketing trends.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills essential for in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and formal and informal presentations;
- Proven ability to comprehend and retain information from
