Market Ambassadors work with the Management team in the operation and promotion of its two outdoor markets at ByWard and Parkdale. As a 7 day a week operation we are seeking folks who are interested and able to work weekends and morning, evenings when needed to support operations and programming. Additionally, there will be opportunities to take on special projects such as (but not limited to) content creation, event planning, visitor experiences and more to support planning for the district.

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Customer Service and Tourism information
- Assists with vendors placement, attendance, billing & support throughout market day
- Market cleanliness and protocol enforcement
- First Aid and emergency support
- Clerical support, records keeping
- Other duties as assigned by Markets Management

**Summary of Qualifications**:

- Experience / interest working in a customer facing environment
- First Aid / CPR Certificate (asset)
- Able to take initiative and to demonstrate good judgment in stressful situations.
- Willingness to learn market policies and procedures and assist in enforcing them
- Punctuality and flexibility to work mornings, weekends throughout the summer months including most weekends.

**Experience**:

- Experience with customer service, tourism, retail and or markets are an asset.
- Strong motivation and a positive attitude are essential.

Les ambassadeurs du marché travaillent avec l'équipe de gestion dans le fonctionnement et la promotion de ses deux marchés extérieurs, By et Parkdale. Comme il s'agit d'un fonctionnement 7 jours sur 7, nous recherchons des personnes intéressées et capables de travailler les week-ends et les matins, les soirs lorsque nécessaire pour soutenir les opérations et la programmation. De plus, il y aura des opportunités de prendre en charge des projets spéciaux tels que (mais sans s'y limiter) la création de contenu, la planification d'événements, les expériences des visiteurs et plus encore pour soutenir la planification du district.

**Responsabilités principales**:

- Service à la clientèle et information touristique
- Aide à la disposition des vendeurs, à la participation, à la facturation et au soutien tout au long de la journée du marché
- Premiers soins et soutien en cas d'urgence
- Soutien administratif, tenue des dossiers
- Autres tâches assignées par la direction des marchés

**Résumé des qualifications**:

- Expérience / intérêt pour le travail en face à face avec la clientèle
- Certificat de premiers soins / certification RCR (un atout)
- Capacité à prendre des initiatives et à faire preuve de bon jugement dans des situations stressantes.
- Volonté d'apprendre les politiques et procédures du marché et d'aider à les faire respecter
- Ponctualité et flexibilité pour travailler les matins, les week-ends pendant les mois d'été, y compris la plupart des week-ends.

**Expérience**:

- L'expérience du service à la clientèle, du tourisme, du commerce de détail et/ou des marchés est un atout.
- Une forte motivation et une attitude positive sont essentielles.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $19.60 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
