**Role**:Solaris Counsellor
**Wage**:$16.10+/hr dependent on qualifications

Class 2 Wage: $17.10/hr

**Benefits**:6% Vacation Pay, 2 Weeks Paing Training, YMCA Membership

**Hours**:Seasonal, Full Time: June 19th to August 29th (40 hours/week), Monday to
Friday, Part-time hours from May-June may be available

**Location**:YMCA Camp Kanannaq, Prince George

**About the**
**Program**:
Our camp leaders are passionate about creating lasting positive impact in the
lives of children and youth through hands-on nature-based learning. Our team
uses YMCA Healthy Child Development to advocate for health, create
opportunities for play, and build meaningful relationships to positively impact
and build the confidence of each camper.

**Responsibilities of this role**:

- Be in accordance with all provincial and YMCA standards, policies and procedures, and

maintain safety
- Interact directly with children and providing support when conflicts arise
- Establish and maintain positive daily communication with all parents/guardians
- Ensure physical and emotional needs of children are met and managed
- Facilitate programming
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and to be appropriately prepared for all

activities
- Share passion for camp and the outdoors, integrating and promoting healthy child

development

**Qualifications**:

- Standard First Aid and CPR C required
- Class 2 License or willingness to obtain (training provided) is considered an asset
- Previous Camp or Child Care experience is an asset
- Physical ability to do the duties required
- 3 satisfactory references, satisfactory criminal record and clear vulnerable sector search
