**Laboratory Assistant (Summer Student Job)**

This is a full-time, temporary summer position.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Laboratory Assistant conducts testing of samples and assists with daily laboratory tasks.

**JOB TASKS**:

- Operates laboratory equipment.
- Prepares samples for testing.
- Conducts routine testing as required by customers and internal processes.
- Collects and maintains records from laboratory testing.
- Writes technical laboratory testing reports.

**COMPETENCIES**:

- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Must have good time-management and organizational skills.
- Must have strong mathematical ability.

**REQUIRMENTS**:

- Secondary school (High School) diploma, or equivalent

**PREFERRED**:

- Working toward a Diploma or degree in a Science or Laboratory Technology Program.
- Experience documenting technical laboratory test reports.
