**Mission**:
The role is responsible for all procurement and logistics activities for Rail and Systems on the Edmonton LRT project. Key responsibilities include conducting the entire Purchasing Process for these Systems specialty packages from identification and selection of suppliers / subcontractors, complete management of RFP process, analysis of conformity of the bids, negotiation of commercial clauses and contract agreements, placement of purchase orders trough to follow-up of the transport, logistics and importation aspects. The role knows the specific Rail and Systems market and contributes to optimize the procurement strategy, identifies cost reduction opportunities to achieve or improve budget targets.

**Main Responsibilities**:
- Conduct the entire purchasing process from supplier identification to final delivery on site
- Consolidate project purchasing requirements for rails and systems
- Support project management to develop the procurement strategy for rail and systems, identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve or improve budget targets
- Provide a thorough analysis and understanding of local business practices to suit the strategy for rail and systems procurement.
- Select suppliers from those already known by the project and additional suppliers as required
- Prepare or update Requests for Proposal (RFP) documentation working with the project’s technical teams
- Organise or continue consultations with the selected suppliers
- Assess financial and commercial responses to RFPs through consultations with suppliers, and the project’s technical teams
- Manage and monitor the exchanges (bidder responses to RFPs, clarification)
- Prepare and update RFP Comparison Tables
- Provide risk analysis regarding supply and/or subcontractors contracts and agreements, in particular recommend approaches to purchase commodities with high raw materials content
- Negotiate with suppliers and/or subcontractors and prepare subsequent Purchase Orders and/or Contract Agreements working with the commercial and legal leads
- Follow-up import and custom clearance process
- Report to the project the overall progress of rail and systems procurement efforts

**Profile**:

- Excellent written, verbal, communication and organizational skills- Undergraduate degree or higher with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in procurement activities in the rail industry
- Knowledge of Canadian law with respect to trading and importing goods and incoterms rules.
- Experience in procurement of one or more of the following rail systems: trackwork, traction power equipment, overhead contact line, signaling and communications
- Knowledge of raw material hedging and associated strategies
- Knowledge of North American marketplace (suppliers and installers),
- Experience with transport & logistics activities
- Compliance and Ethics driven
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
