**JOB TITLE: Cashier and Retail Horticulturalist**
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
Armstrong Home Hardware
Binbrook, ON
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Greet customers with a welcoming acknowledgement.
- Assist customers with purchases in retail checkout area.
- Maintain checkout area in a neat and tidy manner.
- Process sales through a Point-of-Sale and complete sales transactions through cash or debit machine.
- Thank and acknowledge patrons upon leaving
- Load bagged materials and maintain all aspects of plant care.
- Process returns and customer’s concerns.
- Understand basic pests and plant diseases and recommend products.
- Assist customers with advise on how to plant and use landscape products.
- Answer phones and relay messages as necessary.
- Project a “helpful” image to customers.
- Treat customers as “you” would like to be treated.
- Receive products into computer system, assist with pricing and store set up.
- Maintain ongoing merchandise of store products.
- Re-stock and maintain clean retail areas as required.
- Opening and closing store, following procedures set out.
- Balancing days transactions at end of each shift.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Interest in Retail Sales required.
- Be able to work well with others and take direction.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing retail environment.
- Physically fit: able to stand, walk and assist with 30-50lb packages.
- Pleasant demeanor.
- Be able to work Saturday when needed.
- Organizational and math skills required.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Motivated, self-disciplined individual with strong work ethic.

- Ability to listen and understand customer’s needs.
- Strong family values are essential.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Expected hours: 40 per week
