**CME Ltd. West Coast Division is currently seeking an experienced Machinist join our team in Port Alberni, British Columbia. Our machinists require diversity and the skills to operate manual machines such as horizontal boring mills, milling machines, large lathe, hollow spindle lathe and drill presses.**

**Responsibilities**
- Manually machining and manufacturing quality precision parts (manual lathe and mill) from various materials to specified size and shape, based on Work Order, drawings and specifications provided.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed and plan best sequence of operations.
- Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, verniers, dial indicators, etc.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools to perform precision, machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, drilling; troubleshooting as required.
- Inspect the machined product; correct any defects.
- Completing any required documentation.
- Clean and maintain equipment.
- Support workplace safety.
- Support continuous improvement and quality objectives regarding machine shop procedures and practices.

**Requirements and Skills**
- Journeyperson/Red Seal Machinist.
- 4years’ minimum experience as a Machinist.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
- Ability to manage complex machining tasks with a high level of productivity and accuracy.
- Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, honest and punctual.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and/or independently.
- Always demonstrate safe work practices.
- Self-organized person with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Action and operation-oriented person.
- Strong ability to work as a team, good communication skills.
