Chebucto Family Centre is a community hub located in Spryfield, Chebucto Family Centre offers free programs and services regarding advocacy, resource navigation, practical support, wellness, prenatal, Doula services, parenting and child and youth development. In addition, Chebucto Family Centre operates as a Home Child Care Agency.

Our mission is to nurture and enhance the quality of life of families through the delivery of community-based programs and services.

**Position Description**:
The Community Centre Worker is empathetic, personable, energized, professional, reliable and flexible.

The Community Centre Worker provides support to the Centre, through reception, general housekeeping duties, snack preparation, and program support. They will provide assistance to community members accessing the Centre’s services, such as the Basic Needs Cupboard. In addition to these responsibilities, they will support the Playroom Facilitator with childcare, and assist with center programming as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with children, families and community members
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently when required
- Knowledge of community resources an asset
- Social Services training/education/experience is an asset

**This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs. Applicants must meet criteria, including being between the ages of 15 and 30.**

This position is a fixed term, 8 week contract
- Start date: July 2nd/2024, End Date: August 27th/2024. The hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm (35 hours per week).
