**Project Manager**

The Machining Group’s (MG) Thurston Machine Co Ltd. (TMC) is seeking a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing various projects that run through our shop, including scopes consisting of full fabrication, machining, coatings, and assembly. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the projects from project kick off, project schedules, subcontractor management, documentation, milestones, and client engagement.

**Job Purpose**:The Project Manager plans, organizes, and oversees a project from start to finish. They should guarantee that the project is finalized to the contentment of all stakeholders, within the designated budget and timeline. The Project Manager identifies the project's goals, objectives, and scope and creates a project plan that outlines the tasks, timelines, and resources required. They communicate with the project team and stakeholders, manage risks, issues, and change orders, and monitor progress to ensure that the project stays on track. The Project Manager also evaluates the project's success and identifies areas for improvement in future projects.

**Major Responsibilities**
- The Project Manager is accountable for managing multiple projects plans and schedules while ensuring that the team under his/her instruction performs activities to meet milestones and contract objectives.
- Establish a critical path schedule with our in-house team, including milestone dates and completion timelines to meet contract completion dates for all projects.
- Captures and understands fabrication scopes and communicates gaps/missing information.
- Translating general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for the supervisory team members, working with team members to overcome potential challenges.
- Periodically reassessing goals to meet forecasted objectives.
- Project Documentation as needed: Startup Documentation, RFI’s, Change Orders, Project Reporting, Project closeout documentation, etc.
- The Project Manager communicates objectives to the Shop Supervisor and floor staff and manages expectations with Stakeholders.
- Creates and Manages the Project Schedule (GANTT, Milestone, etc.) ensuring changes are documented and scheduled using a change control process.
- Prepare for and participate in the stakeholder meetings as required. This includes sharing the monthly status of the program, issues, risks, mitigation plans, dependencies, financial status, and needs/requests from the sponsors.
- Conduct and capture regular meetings with stakeholders, partners, resources, and vendors that are responsible to deliver parts of the project and follow up with action items from the meetings.
- Maintain, recognize, address, and resolve discernable behaviour to ensure morale and productivity exceed Customer and the Machining Group policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the TMC Code of Business Conduct.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
- The Project Manager must provide leadership that results in safe work culture and is responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the workplace health and safety legislation.
- Managing the project, including quality and production work; ensuring that team members work to job specifications and follow the plans.
- Review test plans, and quality documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy and alignment with required specifications and design.
- Responsible to sign-off of quality checks prior to shipment.
- Raise concerns to the Thurston GM
- Report to the Thurston (GM) on the project status, financials, schedule, risks, and issues.

**Skills/Qualifications**:

**Skills**: Has the ability to:

- Lead the team and maintain strong working relationships with team members, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Comfortable with presenting change orders, deviations to scope, early warning notices etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for negotiation and presentations, team management, organization, and risk management
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of different manufacturing methods, planning, scheduling, and sequencing.
- Handle the administrative duties of the position, including completion of required documents
