Experience in the tree care or green industry is recommended but is not compulsory.
An arborist assistant helps with the day to day functions of the job particulars in the tree care line of work. These duties included chainsaw and various equipment use. The general maintenance of all equipment used. Driving vehicles including loaders. Rigging and roping. Lifting, cutting and various labor intensive jobs involving tree work and odd jobs. Felling, pruning, removing and trimming of trees. Tree removal and trimming from an elevated work platform. Other yard tasks/ duties such as raking, shoveling, odd jobs but are not limited too.
This is a rewarding opportunity on many different levels. Possibilities to advance, including an apprenticeship are available to those who earn it. Other education opportunities are available to learn and grow skillsets and meet safety requirements.
