**EXTRUSION SETUP TECHNICIAN**

**North Star St. Thomas **(40684 Talbot Line, St. Thomas, ON, N5P 3T2)

**Starting Wage: $25.75 **+ shift premium + increase after probationary period

**Shift**:Day shift to start (training) 7AM-3PM; Straight afternoons (after training) 3PM-11PM; or rotating afternoons 3PM-11PM and midnights 11PM-7AM (after training).

North Star Windows & Doors is seeking a highly motivated individual with a safety mindset and commitment to growth to join our Extrusion Team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain and test equipment that includes but is not limited to dies, calibrators, tanks, templates, heater bands, thermocouples, barrel and spot heaters.
- Cleaning and proving all extrusion tools.
- General tool maintenance.
- Mange proper storage and setup of tooling and die carts.
- Drive and improve 5S culture.
- Set up and prove tools for production runs.
- Assist in proving new tools.
- Assist in Extrusion production as required (stacking or operating).
- Work in a safe and organized manner.
- Other duties as required.

**Critical Skills**
- Excellent attendance.
- Thorough knowledge of all extrusion operations and quality expectations.
- Knowledge of equipment an asset.
- Positive attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule.
- Must be able to lift heavy toiling (50+ lbs).

**Requirements**:

- Must be eligible to work in Canada and 18-yrs of age or older
- Must be available to work outlined schedule: day shift to start (training) 7AM-3PM; straight afternoons (after training) 3PM-11PM; or rotating afternoons 3PM-11PM and midnights 11PM-7AM (after training).
- Must be available to work overtime, when required.
