London, Canada London Cross Cultural Learner Centre Full time

The Cross Cultural Learner Centre is a non-profit organization, located in London, Ontario, that provides settlement services for newcomers to Canada. We are currently looking for a full-time, temporary, **Language Assessor** to join our team. This is a contract position that ends March 31, 2025.

Reporting to the Manager, the Language Assessor is responsible for administering language assessments, using approved language assessment tools to determine language proficiency levels for newcomers. This role also refers eligible newcomers to appropriate language classes.

Roles Responsibilities

Language Assessment & Client Intake (80%):

- Administers and scores the Canadian Language Benchmarks assessment (CLBA) and other related tools to eligible clients to determine English language proficiency
- Determines client eligibility for federally and provincially funded English language trainingservices
- Determines special needs of clients which may have an impact on client ability to access training(e.g.) child-minding, transportation assistance, etc.
- Advises clients regarding the most appropriate training program based on the results of the assessment and client needs
- Refers clients to training and social service agencies including CCLC as required
- Completes client intake tasks, sets up and maintains client files (HARTS, iCORA, manual, etc.)including results of assessment, current referral, details of consultations with clients etc.
- Maintains statistical information on clients served during the current month using manual files and the History of Assessment, Referral and Training System (HARTs) database

Other Duties (20%)
- Participates actively in all mandated training, staff meetings, and workshops
- Maintains and submits required program statistics and monthly reports to the Manager
- Ensures appropriate confidential handling of all client information and files
- Operates in accordance with the policies, guidelines, and protocols of the program and CCLC
- Accepts other duties as assigned by the manager

**Qualifications**

Pay: $26.41 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Licence/Certification:

- TESL Ontario Accreditation (required)
