**Job Summary**:
Carries out tests as part of laboratory or job studies or in the industry in accordance with the defined test program.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Conduct QA/QC testing on liquid asphalt samples
- Run the tests according to the standard methods used in the industry
- Read and follow standardized methods
- Collect samples
- Check the calibration of laboratory instruments
- Maintain equipment and facilities
- Analyze the results of the samples
- Ensure compliance with regulations on safety and the environment
- Perform other related duties as required
**Qualifications**:
**Education, Training, Diplomas and Certifications**
- Students currently enrolled in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Tech program, or any science programs will be considered
- Strong computer knowledge (Ex: Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and current drivers abstract (Must have own vehicle to get to and from work)
**Work Experience**
- Work experience in a laboratory environment or school laboratory experience is considered an asset
- Experience in safety regulation (CSTS, Dangerous goods, etc.)
**Soft Skills**:
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Reliability and punctuality is required
- Ability to follow directions and to respect processes
- Necessary to stay alert for long periods of time
**Working Conditions**
- Use of personal protection equipment is required
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy
- Must be able to meet all safety requirement
- Ability to work with hot/ odorous/ sticky materials and chemicals
