**About the Department**

**The Opportunity**:
The **Financial Officer** will provide effective and efficient management of all financial activities, services and programs on behalf of the Faculty, including supporting the strategic goals and priorities in managing its financial affairs in an efficient, innovative and professional manner. The position will ensure planning, managing and a responsibility for the financial resources administration of the Faculty, in accordance with university policies, procedures and Faculty goals and objectives as determined by the Dean and provide financial leadership and communicate financial strategies and outcomes to the Dean's executive team.

**Qualifications**

Reporting to the Sr.Director, Finance & Strategic Programs, the Financial Officer will have a post-secondary degree in business/finance and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of related experience in financial management, including financial planning and reporting, and IT resources management and experience in supervising staff in a unionized environment required, preferably in a public sector organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
