**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager of Clinical Services, the Pharmacy Practice Assistant works as a member of the inter-professional team and participates in the provision of safe, competent, patient and family centered ethical care, ensuring the goals and needs of the patient are prioritized and individualized. Working within their legislated scope of practice and scope of employment, the Pharmacy Practice Assistant assumes responsibility for their own actions, are accountable to the public and contribute as a healthcare professional to plan of care and function of pharmacy to ensure a safe and healthy environment. The Pharmacy Practice Assistant functions are self-determined, assigned through management, the pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, other Pharmacy Practice Assistants or as requested by other members of the care team.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Licensure in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician is an asset-
- Experience as a pharmacy technician/pharmacy practice assistant, preferably in a hospital, an asset-
- Knowledge of sterile technique and special precautions used with chemotherapy are an asset-
- Experience in unit dose drug distribution systems, automation technology, decentralized medication dispensing cabinets, an asset-
- Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control and record keeping-
- Demonstrated good decision making and problem solving skills-
- Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medications-
- Basic typing skills or computer/keyboard experience; skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, etc.-
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills-
- Knowledge of the law and regulations pertaining to the receipt, storage and distribution of prescription and narcotic drugs-
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.

**Hours**:

- Permanent / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$23.07 - $26.14 Hourly
