Position Title**:Quality Technician**

Reports to: Quality Manager

**Position Summary**

This position is responsible to support the quality department and the quality management system at the company, with all activities focused on monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve the company’s final products and processes. The focus of this role is to ensure product being manufactured meets or exceeds established quality standards. The team member must fulfill their duties and responsibilities in accordance with the mission and values of TFI Aerospace and in line with the strategic goals of the company.

**Responsibilities** of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Ensure a safe working environment at all times and participate in the Internal Responsibility System where everyone shares the responsibility of safety.

2. Ensure that your behaviours contribute to a positive working environment and effective working relationships on the team.

3. Follow all procedures and work instructions in accordance with the Quality Management System.

4. Inspections and/or Testing for all first-off, in-process, incoming from outside processors, and final inspections of all parts including the following as required:

- Incoming dimensional from grind, drilling, plating
- First-off, In-process, Final Inspections supporting each department
- Torque testing (nuts) and Three cycle tests

5. Conducting internal audits and recommending corrective action as necessary based on audit results.

6. Titration of passivation solutions (weekly/Daily)

7. Help carry out 5S and Quality project initiatives

8. Conduct SPC - statistical process control and make recommendations if corrective action necessary

9. Help control, organize, and track Quality Alerts for non-conforming product that needs sorting, re-working, or to be scrapped. Coordinate with production to get the sort/re-work completed and with logistics to get part counts for the completed work.

10. Control and organization of the quarantine/sample parts cage.

11.Participate in investigation of any non-conformances with material or product, and carry out the disposition.

12.Administration for the quality department including reviewing and filing vendor certificates, inventory control of supplies for the quality department (grinding discs, wheels, and other consumable supplies)

13. Project support for issues with in-process parts or equipment, as well as with special projects with the technical team.

**Qualifications**

1. Strong attention to detail.

2. Experience in a quality related field of study or employment.

3. Working knowledge of measuring tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.

4. Ability to read production drawings or blueprints is an asset.

5. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

6. Excellent data collection and analytical skills.

**Working Conditions**

1. Fast-paced environment with high demands for accuracy and detail.

2. QC Lab represents about 1/4 of the time required for the work area and manufacturing area represent the balance of the time required for the work area.

3. Log in and log out for your shift at any time you arrive or leave the premises.

4. Regular hours of work are 8 paid hours per shift. (7:00am to 3:30pm) Monday to Friday.

5. There is a half hour unpaid meal-break after completing 4 hours of a full shift.

6. There are two paid breaks (10 minutes each) after completing the first two hours and the two hours following the meal-break.

7. Overtime is paid after working 42.5 hours each week in a bi-weekly pay period.

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
