**Your opportunity**:
The U of T Spaces & Experiences Marketing and Communications team consists of brand, web, media, design, and social media experts who support all the Spaces & Experiences business streams, with a strong focus on brand development and marketing and communications strategies and tactics. The team is hiring a permanent, full-time Trademark Licensing Manager who will manage and lead the Trademark Licensing program for the University of Toronto.

The Trademark Licensing Program (TML) is an impactful one. It ensures that the University and its departments are engaging in ethical procurement of merchandise and that branded merchandise is accurately representative of the University’s image. TML also works to develop new merchandise and brand partnerships to help enrich campus life and the student experience by fostering a sense of belonging and pride at U of T and within the city by helping to create merchandise with the University of Toronto mark that will stand as a symbol of the University’s great and lasting impact on the U of T community. The program seeks to continue growing by implementing new programs, events and merchandise to increase awareness of the University brand through branded merchandise, while continually striving to provide the highest level of customer service to the campus by building on existing guidelines and establishing itself as an industry-leading program.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Leading the development and making recommendations for operational policies, procedures and best practices for the program
- Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives
- Developing and implementing marketing plans to support business development, and revenue-generating strategies and/or activities, along with strengthening brand profiles
- Advising on marketing best practices and brand-building opportunities
- Fostering and building relationships with internal and external partners of strategic importance inthe coordination of marketing activities
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) administrative guidance and directing the activities of a small team

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced College Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration or Retail Merchandise Development, or other disciplines relevant to the position, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum five (5) years professional experience in a marketing, communications, retail merchandise development, or B2B role
- Experience cultivating and developing brand partnerships
- Experience creating and producing graphic design using design platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with retail merchandise development, supply chain management, B2B sales and partnerships
- Experience leading a small team
- Experience developing workflow systems and business processes
- Experience maintaining a digital asset management system
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, empathy, sound judgment and discretion
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment
- Intermediate proficiency working with various design platforms (Adobe creative suite, Microsoft Office, social media platforms, WordPress CMS)
- Excellent customer service skills, including providing detailed information, assistance and support to clients/customers, along with liaising with suppliers
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
