Autocad Operator

Position Objective:

- To import customer supplied CAD drawings into proprietary LANTEK laser software and convert into a layout suitable for metal part production through laser cutting.
- Nesting of the finished LANTEK drawing to produce a CNC program that drives the laser cutting process.
- Assist with tooling or jig design projects
- Complete duties for all orders given including, prototype cutting, forming layouts laser nesting and any modifications/rework

Specific Duties:
1. Prepare 2 dimensional CAD drawing of parts and assemblies from customer supplied engineering drawings. Confirmation and addition of dimensions must be done in most cases.

3. To incorporate knowledge of sheet metal principles such as bend allowances, clearances and deformation in relation to hole location during part layout.

4. To incorporate techniques such as puzzle notching to assist welder/fitter assembly tasks.

5. To design specialized jigging, templates & etching to assist with assembly or machining stages of parts production.

6. To design specialized forming tooling to assist sheet metal operations.

7. To consider product yield during nesting operations. Operator skill can affect sheet yield and part cost.

8. To incorporate test pieces where complex forming or assembly testing may be required in manufacturing.

9. To confirm all drawings given with the Order are listed correctly on the PO and all revision levels are current

Skill Requirements:
1. Must be Auto Cad programmer and able operate LANTEK Layout Operator (Experience even less than 2 or 3 dimensional CAD systems.)

ie AutoCAD/Inventor and willing to train.

2. Experience in a sheet metal or custom fabrication environment.

3. Experience with design principles in metal forming with layouts.

4. Experience with LANTEK laser cutting software.

**Experience**:

- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
- drafting: 1 year (preferred)
