Distribution Manager

**Six Pints Collective** is currently seeking a **Distribution Manager** to join our team at our Distribution Centre based in **Stayner, Ontario** The Distribution Manager is an integral part of supply chain and distribution as it is the responsibility of this role to oversee the warehousing and delivery aspects of direct distribution. Our direct distribution model provides us a major competitive advantage through superior customer service and quality control. The Distribution Manager is required to continually monitor and assess all activities and implement the most effective and efficient use of all resources, people and equipment to consistently provide exceptional service to all of our customers.

This role is required to ensure that workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock as well as oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods. Lead the activities of maintenance to ensure that the fleet and heavy equipment is available, dependable and safe at all times. Oversee preventative maintenance program and ensure compliance with corporate policies and government regulations.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assists the “Director of Distribution, Ontario” in the creation, maintenance, and accountability of a yearly budget.
- Assists the Director of Distribution, Ontario in monitoring and maintaining external relationships to other warehouse and production sites.
- Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the operations of the warehouse(s) and fleet in their charge with the support of the Director of Distribution, Ontario.
- Plan and implement operations policies & procedures and communicate this information to staff.
- Ensure quality programs and policies are adhered to.
- Manage the Health & Safety of the warehouse, fleet and staff through regular communication, training, enforcement, inspection, incident investigation and improvement plans
- Maintain accurate records of all Health & Safety related items, including incident reports, inspection reports, training sign off and employee communication.
- Plan, organize, and direct Warehouse related services such as cleaning, installations, maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections.
- Oversee warehouse operations including: inventory storage and disbursement, staging of outbound loads, and loading and unloading all trucks.
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage.
- Oversee fleet operations in concert with the Driver Supervisor including route design/changes, scheduling, driver customer service, etc.
- Communicate maintenance requirements to maximize efficiency and implement corrective actions as required.
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse through inspections on equipment, facilities, issuing work orders for repairs, and requisitions for replacements.
- Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork, inventory and stock control through coordination with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments.
- Find logístical solutions for special deliveries as required to provide exceptional customer service.
- Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and appraise the performance of warehouse and fleet personnel.
- Plan training for new employees as well as organize ongoing training and refresher courses for all staff as per Six Pints policy and legislation.
- Problem-solve, negotiate, and address staff challenges and performance management; assist in the coaching and counselling of warehouse and fleet employees.
- Along with the Driver Supervisor and Director of Distribution, Ontario, they will work within the governing processes of the program to maintain Quality, Traceability and Recall as required.
- Coordinate with Production, Sales and Service Managers to provide seamless service through holidays, promotions, or other events as required.
- Serves to support commercial sales and marketing in planning the logistics of special events, product launches, and working with the Inside Sales Team to maintain high levels of customer service.
- Ensures coverage for the Driver Supervisor’s holidays and to aid with heavy work flows and holiday coverage.
- Manage holiday pool and be able to cover unplanned warehouse employee absences and keep accurate records.
- On call duties include responding to fleet issues, including truck breakdowns.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education & Experience**
- Degree or diploma and/or 7+ years of experience in a supervisory logistics role.
- Experience leading or supervising people in a non-union environment as asset.
- Experience in a food production environment.
- Forklift Certified (Train the Trainer or Instructor Level preferred).
- DZ (Class 3) or AZ (Class 1) driver’s license in good standing preferred.
- Experience working with Material handling equipment.
