**Position Summary**:
The Civil Underground Gradesperson is responsible for assisting in the construction and maintenance of underground infrastructure by providing accurate grade control, ensuring proper alignment and elevation of trenches, and supporting the installation of utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drain systems.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Grade Control**: Accurately measure and set grades for trenches, ensuring proper alignment and elevation as per project specifications.
- **Survey Assistance**: Collaborate with surveyors to establish reference points, benchmarks, and stakes for the construction site.
- **Equipment Operation**: Operate and maintain grading equipment, including laser levels and builders level.
- **Trenching Support**: Assist with the excavation and backfilling of trenches, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
- **Utility Installation**: Support the installation of underground utilities and alignment of underground structures.
- **Quality Assurance**: Inspect work areas to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil construction, specifically in underground utilities and grading.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in using surveying and grading equipment.
- Strong understanding of underground utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months
