Shop Foreman

Overview:
We are seeking a Shop Foreman. As a Shop Foreman, you will supervise employees engaged in repairing and maintaining rental equipment. Assists in coordinating and directing the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while providing quality repair work. Advises and recommends technician skills and training needs.

Duties
- Produce an annual training plan
- Technical training for technicians throughout the year and overcoming the language barriers
- Produce and keep up to date an excel spreadsheet to track training by technicians
- Maintain T3 training status with Hyster-Yale
- Involvement in new product launches
- Technical support for all departments
- Technical support for field and shop service technicians
- Provide technical assistance on quotes and estimates
- Provide technical support on company equipment
- Provide input and assistance with technician recruiting
- Provide input and assistance on technician annual performance reviews and compensation
- Instruct, assist and train service technicians in best practices of equipment repair and safety
- Perform inspections of completed repairs to ensure thorough and quality of work performed
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes
- Work in cooperation with other areas to provide quality, seamless customer service
- Directs service technicians and yard staff in daily operations
- Schedules service and maintenance of equipment in the workshop and/or customer job site; including coordinating response to breakdowns with road technicians
- Monitors all equipment, ensuring that all repairs have been properly designated to the account of a customer, supplier or the profit center
- Assists Profit Center Manager in training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts
- Other duties assigned by manager
- Freeze the use of Prestige technicians and recruit company technicians

- Contribuer et aider à l'évaluation annuelle des performances des techniciens et à leur rémunération.
- Instruire, aider et former les techniciens de service aux meilleures pratiques de réparation et de sécurité des équipements.
- Inspecter les réparations effectuées pour s'assurer de l'exhaustivité et de la qualité du travail réalisé.
- Faire preuve d'un effort continu pour améliorer les opérations, réduire les délais d'exécution et rationaliser les processus de travail.
- Travailler en collaboration avec d'autres secteurs pour fournir un service à la clientèle de qualité et sans faille.
- Diriger les techniciens de service et le personnel du chantier dans les opérations quotidiennes.
- Planifie l'entretien et la maintenance de l'équipement dans l'atelier et/ou sur le chantier du client, y compris la coordination de l'intervention en cas de panne avec les techniciens de maintenance.
- Surveiller tous les équipements, en s'assurant que toutes les réparations ont été correctement affectées au compte d'un client, d'un fournisseur ou du centre de profit.
