**POSTION**: One full-time Site Supervisor

This is a split shift: 6:30-9:15 am and 3:15 to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.

**QUALIFCIATIONS**:

- Diplomas or degrees in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care or Recreation and Leisure services
- Must be able to work independently on your own in the program
- Great interpersonal and relationship building skills with children, parents and co-workers
- Great work ethic
- Creative, takes initiative, plans ahead
- Can handle stressful situations as they arise
- Current First Aid, CPR and Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Must have experience in a School age program

**JOB DUTIES**:

- Responsible for providing care and education to children 4-12 years of age in a group setting which meets the standards of the Early Years Act, Code of Ethics and the Policies and Procedures of St. John Bosco Children’s Centre.
- Programming, planning and facilitating a balance of appropriate activities
- Maintaining and recording daily observations of the children in the program
- Respecting individual abilities and developmental levels of the children in the program
- Guiding children’s behavior through discussion and logical sequences
- Communicating with parents on an on-going basis, regarding progress of child development and areas of concern in the children’s behaviour, activities and any special concerns
- Must be able to work within a school in partnership with school staff

- Promoting and sustaining an accurate and positive image of the organization in the community

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**In the absence of the Director they will assume the “Site Supervisor” position.**

**1.** **The Site Supervisor will be responsible for the following**:

- Annual licensing requirements and ensuring that licensing checklists are completed.
- Menu planning according to the Canada Food Guide and groceries - responsible that menus are provided for afternoon snack and weekly groceries are purchased.
- Registration - ensuring that registration forms are available for families and processing returned registration forms.
- Family orientation to programs
- Upkeep of children’s files
- Updating Emergency Binder
- Receiving and acting on complaints made by staff and parents and reporting to Director
- Reporting any Serious Occurrences to Director (within a 24-hour period)
- Cheque logs
- Billing overview and billing correction
- Supervision of onsite staff
- Implementing and ensuring adherence to all policies of the centre (including suspected abuse, illness, accidents)

**2.** **PROMOTION OF ORGANIZATION WITHIN COMMUNITY**:

- Participate in appropriate community committees promoting co-operation and collaboration
- Be aware of and sensitive to community needs and development
- Investigate and utilize community and social resources

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $19.40-$21.64 per hour
