- Post-Degree Certificate in Data Analytics

We are currently seeking instructors who are capable of teaching one or more of the courses in our rapidly-growing Data Analytics programs.
- CPSC 4800 Computing Data Analytics
- DANA 4850 Capstone Project

These courses are offered year-round at various time during the week. Descriptions of the program and specific courses can be found on the Langara web site:
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare and deliver course materials, support student learning, and provide timely feedback to student assessments
- Ensure effective use of available class and/or lab time
- Maintain appropriate office hours to ensure availability for student consultation
- Build and maintain positive working relationships
- As appropriate, actively seek opportunities to integrate students and learning into organizations and/or the community
- Participate actively in program or course design and review as needed
- Be a positive and active contributor to the Data Analytics programs and department initiatives
- Collaborate closely and have regular meetings with the program coordinator

Required Qualifications:

- A minimum of a master's degree in computing science, or related disciplines with significant focus on machine learning; Ph.D. is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English language
- Mastery in Python and R/R-Studio; Working knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL and cloud-based machine learning services are an asset
- Experience with data science toolkits like: pandas, Jupyter, scikit, TensorFlow, etc.
- Solid track record of leading and delivering real-world machine learning projects and with large data sets
- Previous Canadian post-secondary teaching experience is an asset
- Experience in working with various machine learning algorithms and deployment of machine learning models using clouds are an asset

Salary Range:
$45.88 - $142.49

Salary Range Placement: Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
