Casual position

Flexible availability to cover primarily weekdays from 9am - 12pm with the potential for covering evening shifts

**Job Summary**:*

Child minder provides support and direct care to children under six, including special needs children or infants/toddlers to provide activities while parent/caregiver is attending a program onsite.

**Qualifications**:*

**_Education, Training and Experience:_**
- Grade 12
- Responsible Adult Certificate
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR- C is required.
- No experience required.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:*

1. Monitoring and engaging with children in indoor activities while parent/caregiver is attending a program onsite.
2. Assist in preparation, set up, and clean up with groups as required.
3. Conducts activities with children in structured and unstructured play.
4. Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, and eating.
5. Help maintain a clean, safe and fun experience for each child.
6. Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
7. Keeps program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
8. Adhere to the attached program procedures.
9. Performs other related duties as required.

**General**:*
- Wage rate as per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Unique - Grid 4 (303) Points
- $22.11, plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits.
- This position requires Union membership.
- This position is open to all persons.
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal record check.
- This position reports to the Family Services Coordinator.
