Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the Regional Centre. The work involves frequent contact with vendors, user departments and individuals at all levels of the Regional Centre.

**Qualifications**:

- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Completion or enrolment in courses from the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada Accreditation Program and/or National Institute of Governmental Purchasing Professional Development Program and/or a NECI Public Sector Procurement Program (PSPP) and/or business administration program would be an asset.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in procurement
- Must have personal integrity and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be capable of meeting the Regional Centre bonding requirements.

**Other Assets**:

- Experience in procurement in a government environment (i.e. processing quotations, tenders, proposals, purchase orders, etc.)
- Proficient in the SAP Accounting software.
- Diplomacy and discretion in dealing with personnel and the general public.
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills.

**START DATE: June 1, 2023**

**SALARY: $52, 876 - $66, 096**
