Working under the supervision of the Working Foreman, the Aerial Lineman will assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support the Telecon Civil Team.

This role is based out of our yard in Kingston, ON.

**YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:

- Climb poles, ladders and a variety of construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses
- String cables between structures, manholes, from poles, towers or trenches and ensure that all are to proper tension
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment
- Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays
- Climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet
- Experience in reading and interpreting work plans or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance to Telecon’s Health and Safety policy
- Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fiber optic telecommunication cables
- Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives

**THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES**:

- Minimum 3 years’ of aerial line experience required
- Must have a valid G Driver's License (or greater) and a good driving abstract
- Cable Pulling experience an asset
- Prior pole climbing experience an asset
- Holds Work at Heights and Confined Space Entry; must be fully certified and have client pins for Work at Heights and Confined Space Entry
- Prior training in climbing course, electrical safety awareness, pole top and bucket rescue preferred
- Able to complete the necessary training for working at heights and confined space, pass the corresponding examinations and receive a client authorization number as required
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable training as per legislative and job requirements
- Must provide a good criminal check prior to employment commencing

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.51 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
