Laundry/janitorial Associate Part-time

This position will include shifts in both Laundry and Janitorial. As a Janitor, you will ensure guests are greeted with a spotless lobby, clean corridors, and immaculate rest rooms; and maintain an image of overall hotel cleanliness to encourage repeat business. This position will also be responsible for assisting in laundry and running amenities to the guest room floors.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Cleaning all public areas and guest stairwells
- Daily, weekly and monthly job cleaning tasks which will be assigned on a regular basis
- Cleaning of parkade stairwells, elevators and signage
- Shampoo carpets in public space and guestrooms when needed as needed
- Delivering sufficient quantities of clean linen to room attendant storage rooms
- Ensure carpets are free of stains and holes; steam clean as necessary
- Ensure walls and baseboards are free of stains and marks
- Dust furniture in public areas and ensure it is free of stains and tears
- Responsible for the cleanliness of all public rest rooms
- Prepare maintenance repair orders as required
- Daily, check and clean any stains or fingerprints on windows, along with the windowsills
- Ensure Guest Items are delivered to Guestroom in timely manner
- Ensures maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, color and item
- Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers
- Operates, maintains, and cleans laundry and equipment according to Hotel standards Hangs or folds all linen, uniforms, and other necessary articles Assists in delivering linen to closers and storage areas

**Preferred Education & Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 or GED equivalent is preferred
- Previous hotel cleaning experience is an asset, previous janitorial is preferred
- Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure managing own time efficiently
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as per business need

**Working Conditions**:

- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance
- Some outdoor window work will be required as weather permits

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $14.16-$14.88 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
