**ArcelorMittal Dofasco - Utilities Business Unit**
**Team Member, Finishing Environment Operations**
**(Contract - 12 Months*)**
- _Contracts may be renewed to a maximum duration of 24 months based on business conditions and performance._
**Background**
The primary focus of this role to execute the safe operation, of Utilities Environmental Treatment Facilities treating wastes and recycle water, oil, and acid for all Dofasco Product Streams.
**Role Accountabilities**:
- Maintain certification by rotating through the following functions at regular intervals following Standard Operating Procedures:
- Operate environmental plants within MOEE legislation, Certificates of Approval and established standards by following procedures to minimize the effect on the natural environment.
- Provide recyclable material acid, water, oil, and sludge to the customers within specified standards of quality and quantity as stated in the Customer Supplier Agreement.
- Produce acceptable waste materials to be shipped offsite
- Perform routine procedures (MST) or assist maintenance personnel to ensure equipment reliability.
- Fulfill the responsibilities as identified in the Utilities “I Care” program.
- Adheres and enforces to Utilities Environmental and Quality Policies and Team Standard Operating Procedures.
- Fulfill the Health & Safety responsibilities as identified in the Responsibility and Accountability section of the Health & Safety Program.
- Fulfill the Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Responsibility and Accountability section of the Environment and Energy Program.
- Fulfill the responsibilities as identified in the Manufacturing Process Reliability Process.
**Education & Experience**:
- Two-year college diploma from an Environmental Technician program **OR**:
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma and 2 years of work experience in chemical/water treatment plant.
- Valid Ontario driving license is required.
**Knowledge & Skills**:
- General knowledge of the Manufacturing Process as it relates to Utilities is a required.
- Working knowledge of the piping distribution system related to the EO plants is required.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required
- Good problem-solving skills are required.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is required
**Hours of Work**:
- Presently continuous 12-hour shifts plus overtime as required in a 7-day x 24-hour timeframe.
- 8-hour days for training or special assignment when required
**Work Environment**:
- Plant/Office environment required to be in the plant as required. Required to wear personal safety equipment.
- Physically able to climb stairs, and ladders and perform moderate physical work pull, push wrenches, lift 50 lb
- Required to work from various heights
- Required to wear standard personal protective equipment plus Chemical Goggles, SCBA, CO monitor, dust mask, ear plugs
- Mixture of working conditions; 30 % of the time plant control room, 50% plant environment, 20% outdoors
