**Purpose**:
The Medical Physicist will be an integrated member of the regional physics team, reporting to the Chief Physicist. The physics team is responsible for providing clinical expertise, acceptance testing, commissioning and calibration of equipment, implementation of state of the art technologies, quality assurance, radiation safety and development of new treatment techniques. Additional responsibilities associated with this position include conducting clinical medical physics research and providing education for residents, students and staff.The Medical Physicist will be an integrated member of the regional physics team, reporting to the Chief Physicist. **Education and Training**:
- Graduate degree (a PhD is preferred) in Physics or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Completion of a residency or training program in Radiation Oncology Physics
- Eligible for certification in radiation oncology physics by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine, or equivalent.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required or commitment to obtain upon commencement of employment.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of two (2) years postgraduate experience in radiotherapy physics preferred
**Knowledge/Skills/Ability**:
- A proven track record in medical physics research is an asset
- Experience with low-dose rate and high-dose rate brachytherapy is considered an asset
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other health care professionals
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload

- A strong interest in working with a multi-disciplinary medical team
