**Major Responsibilities**:

- Organizes, directs, and is accountable for personnel in building maintenance, repair of mechanical and electrical equipment systems, and general maintenance procedures.
- Manages the Department's operating budget.
- Oversees all renovations, if required, construction projects and work being carried out within the facility by outside contractors
- Works with Project Management Team, when appropriate to ensure the organization's project goals are identified and met
- Maintains and promotes adherence to safety procedures; ensures personnel practice safe working habits.
- Organizes, directs, and is accountable for personnel in Housekeeping, Environmental, Laundry, and Client Support Services
- Manages Environmental department budget
- Sourcing, procurement, and contract management for all supplies used in maintenance, and environmental services. Procurement and contract management for service providers including landscaping, snow removal, pest control, Major HVAC, and refrigeration
- Asset management including life cycle, capital replacement planning, bidding, submission, and sourcing
- Occupational Health and safety duties, including sitting on a joint OSHA committee
- Safety and security of the building, staff, and residents as in-house resource for the coordinator.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Building Services Technician or Certificate in Building Environmental Systems
- Journeyman certification in plumbing, heating, or electrical is preferred
- Five years of relevant work experience
- Experience in the mechanical, or electrical trade, or equivalent is preferred
- Administration or previous supervisory experience required.
- Experience working with computerized energy management systems considered an asset
- Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset
- Knowledge of the construction of buildings and an understanding of building systems
- Ability to be on call 24/7, except when on vacation
- Third Class Power Engineer considered an asset
- Ability to manage several buildings in a campus environment
- Valid Drivers Licence and dependable transportation

**Hours of Work**: 80 hours bi-weekly (8-hour shifts)

**Salary**:As per the Northwood scale
