Violin Instructor in West Vancouver

We are a music store and school in Ambleside area in West Van looking for more violin teachers to add to our team from Jan 2024 since our current ones are full.

Hired as a contractor for long term based on an hourly pay rate between $32-39 depending on your education and work experience.

Must have:

- University/college level education in music, specially violin
- At least 2+ years of teaching experience particularly to children in an educational setting
- Patient and empathetic towards students
- Ability to commute to West Vancouver for the given shifts (on weekdays they'd typically be 3-8:30pm)
- Ability to be tech savvy to manage given teaching schedule on its website/app (training provided)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills, team player qualities, cooperative skills with managers and staff
- Passionate about teaching music and also preparing students for our annual recitals
- Positive attitude toward students and staff, a team player
- Can tailor teaching method according to student's goals/needs
- Knowledge of RCM (preferred)

This job is meant for individuals who like to grow with a company and to stay long term to teach as our customers don't like to change teachers often. Those with a stable plan to live in this city and with a permanent residency are preferred over those with a work permit.

Speaking more than one language is a valuable asset, particularly Mandarin or Korean.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide tutoring and support to students who need additional assistance
- Create and implement lesson plans that are engaging and interactive
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback on their performance
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information - Help students prepare for RCM exam as needed

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $32.00-$39.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay

- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:
