The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the daily auditing requirements for all inbound, outbound and final inspections of all products and materials. At all times, ensure the adherence of all policies and procedures with respect to quality and report all non-conformances to the Quality Manager.

**This position is for the night shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) - hours of work may vary depending on departmental requirement and may involve overtime. Some weekends required on a rotational basis.**

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Conduct package quality inspections and audits, and isolate any product that does not meet standards.
- Perform sanitation verification and validation testing.
- Ensure non-conforming material is properly identified and reported in a timely manner.
- Conduct random pre-operational inspections to ensure sanitation compliance standards
- Identify issues of concern to QC Lead Hand or QC Supervisor
- Follow and practice GMPs and HACCP protocols. Ensure GMPs are maintained by production and warehouse workers.
- Adhere to all quality policies/procedures and regulatory compliance procedures
- Assist with laboratory testing as required:

- Testing of ingredients and finished product.
- Maintain and update all related records, ensure verification as required.
- Perform daily calibration checks of lab and processing/packaging equipment.
- Ensure that all inbound and outbound products consistently meet quality specifications and adhering to sampling and testing procedures.
- Ensure incoming ingredients and packaging materials meet internal requirements
- Comply with Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and the company’s internal Health & Safety Policy by following standards, rules, and procedures. Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions.
- Other duties as assigned by QC Supervisor or FSQA Manager.

**Skills, Experience and Education**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in food industry related fields.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in food laboratories or quality related activities in food manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written) with effective investigational and technical writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Good understanding of food regulatory requirements in Canada and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively and prioritize jobs in a very fast paced work environment.
- Ability to understand and follow a variety of guidelines and work procedures.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to facilitate and resolve issues.
- Able to stand for long periods monitoring multiple packaging rooms and production lines.
