The Housekeeping Supervisor is accountable to and reports to the Camp Manager.

**Summary**

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the planning, organization, and supervision of the overall operation of the Housekeeping, Coveralls and Laundry area as per Windigo Catering LP standards and to be compliant with all policies and procedures within the organization and with Newmont - Musselwhite Mine. The Housekeeping Supervisor works under the direction of the Camp Manager to assure that the highest degree of quality is maintained at all times in order to best serve our client.

**Authority**
- To delegate responsibility and authority to housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff.
- To discipline housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff but limited to dismissal.

**Job Duties**
- Ensure that the housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff understand and are able to perform the duties expected of them.
- Regularly makes rounds to entire housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff at their work areas to ensure they are in compliance with all safety rules, policies and procedures in the execution of their duties.
- Address and assist the staff with any problems they encounter while performing their duties.
- Monitor and assist with training of all new housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff. Provide coaching and regular feedback in relation to job performance.
- Will write and submit the probationary performance evaluations for probationary employees completing their 3 and 6-months of employment and share these in one-on-one meetings.
- Submit performance appraisals of housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff working under his/her control and identify employees with the potential to advance.
- Prepares and submits Housekeeping Supervisor Checklist as needed to ensure completion of tasks and share these one-on-one with the employee.
- Prepares and submits weekly housekeeper, coveralls and laundry orders to ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and available for the staff to perform their duties.
- Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment and the appearance of housekeeping areas.
- Spot check storage rooms, utility and janitorial closets for upkeep and supply control.
- Communicate with co-workers to ensure sufficient planning for housekeeping, coveralls and laundry services and activities.
- Provide daily oversight and discipline, when necessary, of the housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff.
- Assist in the preparation of work and staffing schedules; sign off on staff timesheets, prepare and print daily housekeeping reports to distribute to housekeepers.
- Stay current with new operating methods and incorporate them into existing housekeeping, coveralls and laundry practices as necessary.
- Attend all required meetings and provide input and recommendations.
- Ensure that housekeeping, coveralls and laundry staff members follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
- Host daily line-up meetings focusing on safety and a structured plan for daily tasks.
- Perform and assist with the duties as outlined in the housekeeper duties and responsibilities.
- Be aware of and report any necessary maintenance and unsafe work conditions.
- If an employee does not respond adequately to coaching, the Supervisor will use discipline as per Windigo Catering’s Employee Handbook, up to and including written warnings.
- Act as a role model for her/his employees.
- Follow the chain of command in respect to reporting safety concerns.
- Other tasks or assignments as required by the Camp Manager.

**Employment Requirements**
- Successful completion of Grade 12, G.E.D., or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience.
- Minimum 5 years of housekeeping related work experience required.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
- Able to interpret and implement applicable laws and regulations.
- Good command of English language and able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of both inside and outside the organization.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Must be familiar with cleaning products.
- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Ability to multitask and follow through to complete overlapping projects and competing priorities.
