**Justice Services Program Manager**

**SUMMARY**:
The Justice Services Program Manager contributes to the success of the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre by effectively planning, organizing, leading, and managing Justice Program services and activities, in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.

The Justice Services Program Manager must possess the ability to supervise and motivate a team of fifteen to twenty (15 to 20) direct reports to achieve and exceed their goals, and be able to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports. The Justice Services Program Manager will further assist in recruitment and selection of program staff needs, oversee daily administration needs including scheduling and expenditure oversight, and ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations. This role will also oversee the orientation / onboarding of new hires and volunteers, as well as assist in the performance reviews and professional development of staff.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Preferred Community College, University Degree or equivalent in Social Services and/or a minimum of 5 years work and/or supervisory experience in a social justice services environment.
- Demonstrated administrative management with the ability to supervise.
- Knowledge of the judicial system, Criminal Code, other related federal and provincial statutes, sentencing principles, and restorative justice principles. Experience in Restorative Justice is an asset.
- Awareness of and appreciation for traditional Indigenous culture and the social reality that Indigenous people experience in an urban setting; knowledge of an Indigenous language(s) considered an asset.
- Significant knowledge of the recent and historical intergenerational trauma that Indigenous people experience and the connection to psychological, physiological, social and spiritual impacts of trauma.
- Strong knowledge of services available for urban Indigenous people seeking judicial supports and services, including diversion, Gladue services, criminal and family court support, bail supervision, partner assault response diversion, Indigenous Peoples’ Court services, transitional supports related to incarceration, and traditional healing.
- Knowledge of and exposure to a range of human resources activities, including: recruitment, orientation, performance management, schedule management, employee relations / communications.
- Experience in program management, supervision, operations, administration and budgeting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
- Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Clearance is a condition of employment.
