**About Our Opportunity**:
The Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic person to add to its Marketing team.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
**Develop and implement domestic and international marketing projects and initiatives for the Nova Scotia Seafood industry in collaboration with key stakeholders.**
- Produce engaging content for the Nova Scotia Seafood Brand's social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, aimed at promoting the seafood industry and increasing the awareness of Nova Scotia seafood.
- Analyze social media metrics to optimize the social media presence.
- Stay updated on seafood marketing trends and innovations.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to support Nova Scotia Seafood industry. Monitor, analyze, and report marketing data.
- Provide project management for international trade missions, trade shows, inbound trade missions, workshops, and special events.
- Cultivate networks with industry partners, both domestically and internationally

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience in marketing, communication, or international trade
- Minimum of 5 years proven work experience in digital marketing and brand strategy.
- Experience in international market development or international trade is required.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices, as well as expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.
- Experience with graphic design and video editing, coupled with an understanding of graphic design principles, website content management systems, and social media scheduling software.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment and maintain excellent working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the seafood industry.
- Cultural awareness to comfortably work in international environments with sensitivity to local customs and business practices.

**Additional Information**:
Based in Halifax, the Seafood Marketing Officer will work within a small, dedicated team to develop and support the implementation of seafood marketing and promotional activities.

This position may require travel within the province, throughout Canada, and to international markets. A valid driver’s license, and passport is required.

**Salary Range**: $2,556.10 - $3,107.16 Bi-Weekly
