Yoga Studio Manager

**Job Summary**:Our Yoga Studio Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of the day-to-day yoga operations for The Space. Reporting to the Studio Owner, the Yoga Studio Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the daily operations of The Space are seamless, while being a leader to our team.

The Yoga Studio Manager is a customer service champion and will be the primary point-of-contact for instructors (responsible for substitutions, scheduling changes, coordination), front desk staff and our students, helping to train and provide yoga education when needed. In partnership with the Studio Owner, the Studio Manager will be expected to contribute to strategy development and problem-solving with an entrepreneurial mentality.

The expectation is that the Yoga Studio Manager will also be a working yoga instructor responsible for at least 5 paid classes a week.

**About the Studio**:The Space is a new yoga studio and holistic wellness centre (offering such additional services as guided meditation and massage) based in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, with a mandate to: Offer a yoga and holistic wellness experience unique to the City of Fort Saskatchewan; make yoga practice accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, body type, abilities, financial status and fitness levels; provide a safe space in which to support individuals on their physical and spiritual healing journeys; and to promote values of education, diversity and inclusivity (welcoming of all cultures and of all people experiencing physical and mental challenges).

**Financial Responsibilities**:

- Maintain statistical data (number of clients, returning clients, new clients, etc.)
- Holistically managing the schedule from a financial perspective while identifying ways to improve low performing classes

**Staff responsibilities**:

- * Direct management of all yoga instructors
- Deliver an exceptional on-boarding and training experience, while continuously mentoring and supporting staff for development
- Lead by example and maintain consistent coaching for staff members to provide exceptional customer service
- Resolve employee issues or concerns in a professional and pragmatic manner
- Implement recognition for teachers who are “killing it”
- Conduct monthly team meetings to ensure communication, cohesion, collaboration and excitement amongst staff

**Customer responsibilities**
- General greeter/promoter, and in-studio “face” of The Space
- Maintain high customer service standards
- Resolve any customer issues that cannot be dealt with by front desk or yoga team

**Operational responsibilities**
- Scheduling of all teachers and managing substitutions where necessary
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
- Staying updated on COVID-19 protocols (if relevant) in respect to yoga and implementing any changes
- Quarterly review of class performance and determine where classes should be added/ dropped
- Work with team to promote and market yoga, including outlining the weekly social media marketing plan
- Ensure front desk staff is educated on yoga offerings and check in process
- Studio supply management - ensuing products are well maintained and stocked
- Working with front desk staff to ensure studio is clean with exceptional attention to detail
- Manage all operations for Virtual Class offerings (if and when applicable): training support staff, ensuring systems are in excellent working condition
- Scheduling room rentals for reiki and massage, etc.
- Develop and launch programs as required
- Identify new yoga opportunities that The Space is not capitalizing on or that are new to market

**Class Instruction**
- Conduct and lead yoga classes (Vinyasa Flow, Pranayama, Yin, Restorative, Beginner & other) in hot and warm environments
- Visually assess students to determine their level of practice to give recommendations and advice on their practice
- Use props in class sequences
- Demonstrate practice and techniques
- Possess the ability to move energy through the body
- Transform energy during the warm-up, build-up and cool-down stages of yoga
- Motivate students with words of encouragement
- Connect with students before, during and after yoga classes
- Make sure the studio rooms are clean, tidy and prepared for the next class
- Offer training recommendations to improve the practice of yoga
- Occasional off-site class instruction (ie, outdoor classes)

**Qualifications**
- 5+ years teaching yoga including certification
- 2+ years management experience, with a preference for experience in yoga studio management
- 2-3 years customer service sales experience
- MindBody Online system experience required
- CPR/First Aid certification

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $25,000.00-$35,000.00 per year
