The **JDMI (Joint Department of Medical Imaging)** has a rare opportunity for you to experience the full gamut of a centralized hospital Radiopharmacy practice. The JDMI Radiopharmacy manufactures, tests and packages radioactive pharmaceuticals used in Nuclear Medicine studies at several Toronto hospitals.

As an integral member of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, the responsibilities of the **Radiopharmacy Technician**, include: preparing radiopharmaceuticals (sterile diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive drugs) used for patient studies at University Health Network or institutions contracting with University Health Network, following standard operating procedures; performing quality control testing following standard operating procedures; maintaining records of radiopharmaceutical preparation, testing and distribution under the supervision of the Radiopharmacist Operations Lead; assisting the Radiopharmacist/Radiopharmacy Coordinator in the manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical kits used in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, using aseptic techniques; maintaining supplies and working environment; monitoring and appropriately disposing of radioactive waste; performing cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.

As an integral member of JDMI, the Responsibilities of the Radiopharmacy Technician include:

- Preparing radiopharmaceuticals (sterile diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive drugs) used for patient studies, following standard operating procedures;
- Performing quality control testing following standard operating procedures;
- Maintaining records of radiopharmaceutical preparation, testing and distribution;
- Assisting the Radiopharmacist/Radiopharmacy Coordinator in the manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical kits used in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, using aseptic techniques;
- Maintaining supplies and working environment;
- Monitoring and appropriately disposing of radioactive waste;
- Performing cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

- At minimum completion of a 2 -year college program in Pharmacy, Radiopharmacy, Chemistry, Microbiology or other science degree or equivalent; BSc preferred
- Training in radiochemistry/radiopharmacy preferred. Knowledge of GMP regulations preferred
- Experience with wet chemistry techniques or experience working with radioactive materials or experience with sterile product manufacturing required. Experience working in a GMP environment is a definite asset.
- The ability to lift 10 kg or more
- Computer record-keeping experience required
- Good organizational and time management skills required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills required
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
