Tubular Manager

**Position Summary**
The key accountability of the Tubular Manager is to manage Western Energy Service tubular inventory so that the appropriate drill pipe is available to meet drilling rig needs and ensure that necessary inspections, maintenance and new purchases are made to meet corporate quality standards. This role works closely with Rig Managers, Field Superintendents, Marketing and Western Field Services Operations Manager.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilites**
- Manage Western Energy Services pipe pool in Canada and USA
- Control and track movement of tubulars
- Maintain a comprehensive tracking system that logs meterage, dimensions, hard banding status, repairs completed, certifcations and other key quality indicators
- Monitor drill string wear and coordinate inspection, maintenance, certifcation and decommissioning of all tubulars
- Maintain and supply accurate tubular specifications and/or requirements
- Generate reports on tubular inventory, location and quality for budgeting and reporting purposes
- Understand Westerns tubular standards, provide interpretation and guidance as necessary
- Ensure all vendors comply with corporate standards while doing pipe inspections and when providing quotes for purchase of new inventory
- Assist in other related projects as necessary

**Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- 5+ years of progressivley responsible pipe inspection and tubular management experience, or comparable experience in the field with drilling contractors
- Proficient with computer usage, include MS Office, Master Dril
- Demonstrate strong leadership and ability to work independtly and with others
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and to handle multiple projects simutaneously
- Super attention to details

**Special Conditions of Employment**
- Field visits may be required; must hold valid driver's license and be able to meet site safety requirements
- Overtime and after-hours response may be required depending on projects and activities
