**What Does a Patrol Supervisor Do?**:
The Patrol Supervisor will work with the Maintenance Superintendent to identify, schedule and direct maintenance operations within the assigned patrol while ensuring compliance with the Contractor Directed Maintenance Contract (CDMC). They also develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders including the client (Ministry of Transportation Ontario), Miller Maintenance and the public.

**As a Patrol Supervisor, You Will**:

- Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants in compliance with Miller Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) polices and ensure contractual HSE obligation for the staff and public are met
- Provide guidance to team members by leading safety meetings and inspections
- Collaborate with the Superintendent, build and maintain a strong functional team through instruction, training, coaching, team building and discipline, where necessary
- Schedule, drive quality, efficiency, and productivity of the patrol
- Ensure work completed meets quality standards (MSS), that preparation and submittal of required reports, documentation and logs are completed
- Understand the scope and sequencing of work, support patrollers to plan and prioritize the work
- Understand cost allocation across different performance requirements of the contract and identify ways to control costs
- Perform maintenance duties on highway infrastructures, as outlined in the Contractor Directed Maintenance Contract (CDMC) Performance Measures
- Assist with investigations and respond to inquiries from the general public, external agencies, and liaise with the Superintendent to resolve problems
- Maintain/clean equipment and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs, as required
- Participate in winter works operations by assisting patrollers with monitoring the progression of winter road conditions, assessing the need for sanding, salting and/or snow plowing and arranging for deployment of equipment and staff accordingly
- Respond to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, incidents, inclement weather or implementations of the emergency plan
- Direct maintenance operations in assigned patrol
- Perform winter and summer patrolling and organize/direct field staff accordingly to meet minimum maintenance standards and accomplish maintenance tasks
- Procure supplies in accordance with established guidelines and policies
- Determine and assign materials, equipment and tools required for work assignments and ensure their return at the end of the day
- Other tasks as required

**What You'll Bring**:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent work experience, considered an asset
- Experience with leading a team and managing personnel, considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the highway maintenance and/or road construction industry
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the applicable OH&S legislations, MTO standards, and Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7 traffic control
- Must maintain a valid Class DZ Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Exceptional ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Superb interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and/or night shift as required
- Knowledge of winter maintenance practices
