**POSITION OVERVIEW**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Risk Selection**:evaluate and assess the business of various complexity by qualifying accounts, identifying and selecting risks, determining the premium, policy terms and conditions, and working within accepted guidelines.
- **Strategic and Leadership**:Use knowledge and expertise to take the fullest advantage in the underwriting environment with respect to Risk Appetite, Capacity, and Pricing.
- **Financial**:Monitor and report results for the construction operation, to deliver an underwriting profit, and assist in organic growth and revenue budgets.
- **Profitability**:Adhere to London Market guidelines for profitable portfolio growth. Seek new opportunities for underwriting growth and development. Ensure that segment underwriting operation and risk issues are appropriately managed and contract guidelines are adhered to. Work with the Managing Partner on determining appropriate segment strategies best suited for our London partners and are directly aligned with Tripoint's own strategies and goals. Referral of risks outside underwriting authorities and guidelines.
- **Business development**:Identify, develop, and lead opportunities for growth and development of the Construction and Wrap Up liability Program portfolios, using a high level of interpersonal skills, negotiations, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills to further develop existing book.
- **Product development**:Assist the Managing Partner in the development of competitive insurance solutions, including policy wording, value-added services, underwriting guidelines training, and support.
- **Claims**:Work with claims providers internally and externally to assist in delivering specialized (segment-based) claims expertise.
- **Risk Appetite**:Monitor, research, and analyze market trends, competitor results, and development, and assist in the development of business cases for proposed new products, changes, and enhancements, including wording and coverage issues in the segments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of construction underwriting program controls, to support the MGA London Contracts.
- Work with Quality Control and Audit procedures and Processes, for internal usage for Construction Programs.
- Guide, mentor, and coach junior underwriters in both technical and professional skills, and demonstrates the areas of expertise, providing regular updates to other underwriters.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Construction, Contractors, and Wrap Up liability underwriting, marketing, and production goals and strategies aligned to corporate objectives.
- Assist in implementing cross-selling opportunities with clients, and the development of integrated relationships between TriPoint Insurance Underwriting Inc., Brokers, and Markets.
- Assist in identifying industry trends, opportunities for profitable growth initiatives, and opportunities with all targeted key clients, brokers, and targeted accounts, using a strong knowledge of competitor activity, market trends, and key business drivers.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum 5 years of industry experience with respect to Construction and Wrap Up Liability Insurance and in the usage of technical software, programs, and systems such as Microsoft Office Products, TAM, Lineage Reporting, and other such systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of Construction Market operations.
- Thorough knowledge of Wordings, Coverages, Contracts and Underwriting guidelines
- CIP/CRM/ FCIP/Designations, preferably combined with a university degree.
- Strong Leadership and Motivational skills
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff.
- Ability to forge sustainable relationships with brokers and clients.
- Ability to develop and support portfolio growth with profitability through market analysis in conjunction with strategic planning.
- Strong understanding and familiarity with the Loss Control, Risk Inspection, and Risk Management process, as applied to Program Underwriting, and in particular the construction space.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization capabilities.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Insurance, Brokerage, MGA, and London markets
- Goal-oriented, self-directed, high performer, dedicated, highly motivated, and energized, ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
