ONYX Industrial Inc. is looking for part-time, highly capable, and motivated Fire Fighter/Rescue Technicians for this upcoming year. ONYX has an excellent opportunity for casual **Firefighters/ERT** to join our team for projects for our client in Northern Alberta.

**Responsibilities**

As an ONYX Fire/Rescue member, you will respond to emergencies to protect people, the environment, and property.

Utilizing skills and expertise in fire suppression, ARFF, 1006 Rope Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue, as well as assisting in medical events. Staff will be responsible for attending pre-job confined space entry meetings, ensuring workers are aware of all hazards and associated risks with Confined Spaced work.

Reporting to the Fire Lead, staff may conduct flight standby, equipment inspections, and drills. Documentation and reporting any incidents involving equipment or personnel is key. Staff must participate in fire and rescue training, and keep up to date with site-specific fire and rescue guidelines and procedures, medical protocols and rescue plans. Maintain a respectful work environment by demonstrating positive workplace behavior and many other fire/rescue tasks.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- NFPA 1001 Level II
- NFPA 472 HAZMAT Opps
- Valid H2S Alive (from Energy Safety Canada)
- Rope Rescue 1006, Operations Minimum (Valid In-House Tickets Accepted)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass pre-access drug testing
- Clean shaven
- Self-motivated
- Team player
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- CPR
- First Aid
- Familiar with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Collaborate with others to achieve the best results
- Ability to commute to Leduc Alberta

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Fire Fighting experience
- NFPA 1006 Technician with up-to-date knowledge
- NFPA 1003
- NFPA 1006 Confined Space, with up-to-date knowledge
- Familiarity with Confined Space Policies
- Class 1,2 or 3 license w/ Airbrake endorsement
- Any medical training recognized by ACOP (EMR/PCP/ACP)
- Willing to learn
- Self-starters
- Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

**Schedule**
- Two week on, Two week off rotation (with the knowledge that at times work may end quicker than initially planned or go longer wherein work extends to 3 weeks, although this is voluntary)
- 12 Hours days (on call 24 hours)
- Days or Nights

**Salary**: $410.00-$460.00 per day
