NTE Energy Canada Ltd has an opening for a Swing Operator. This position is camp based in Northern BC, consisting of 15 days on shift followed by 13 days off shift. The position requires a self-motivated individual to be a part of our day to day field and plant operations.
Position Overview
Essential Job Functions
Support and direct operations team to maintain field production using the following (but not limited to) skills and experience
- Well optimization
- Pigging optimization
- Maximizing facility run time and efficiency
Facilitate and reinforce communication within the team and between the team and field foremen, field superintendent and Calgary office production/operations staff
Maintain a highly functioning team within your area of responsibility
Support the Foreman with coaching and mentoring operators with a wide variance of experience and expertise
Promote, strengthen and maintain a culture that focuses on:
- Safe, Environmentally conscious operation of Natural gas wells and facilities
- Efficient, profitable business practice
- Open, honest communication and collaboration with team members and service providers
Continuously identify optimization opportunities and support field staff in generating, developing, testing and evaluation of optimization initiatives
Retain a high level of understanding and audit, train and mentor less experienced operators on current regulatory, safety, production, competency procedures and initiatives
Responsible to keep equipment and plant operating at maximum efficiency with minimum down time in a safe and cost effective manner.
Provide input and support on facility optimization and gathering system modification projects
Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of production/fuel/flaring/venting data. (including trucked volumes.)
Work effectively with Production Accounting staff to ensure accuracy in PVR and provide accurate information about flow and meter questions and issues as they may arise
Ensure all regulatory requirements are being met and documented.
Maintain continuous understanding of operating costs and work with the operations team to understand key cost drivers and facilitate team driven cost saving initiatives
Assist in ordering and tracking parts and fittings
Monitor and approve invoicing (through ADP) to ensure accuracy and prompt payment to vendors.
**Requirements**:
5-10 years of experience in production operations.
Thorough working knowledge of all plant and field equipment and its functions.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
First Aid, H2S Alive
Completion of required safety and technical courses
Plant processes including compression, refrigeration & stabilization. Amine process knowledge and experience an asset
Basic computer skills
Mechanical aptitude
Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of gathering system and isolation points.
Positive attitude and strong sense of team commitment.
Adequate knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Other Skills/Abilities
Good computer skills an asset.
Familiar with excel and word programs.
Familiar with ADP Open Invoice is an asset.
Ability to be open minded and thinking “outside the box” is also an asset.
**Knowledge & Experience**
- Able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Able to drive to Northern BC or Calgary or Edmonton.
- Superior troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with others to perform all aspects of maintenance activities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb a 6 ft ladder
- Oil and Gas industry experience is an asset
