The Secure Treatment Unit (STU) is a Schedule 1 Facility within a Provincial Correctional Centre having 100 beds comprised of four 25-bed units. Each Unit is home to one of the four STU specialized programs:
- Assessment & Stabilization Program
- Aggressive Behaviour Modulation Program
- Sexual Behaviours Program
- Trauma Disorders Program
Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the individual is responsible for the coordination of the Sexual Behaviours Clinic at the Secure Treatment Unit.
**Duties**:
The individual in this position is responsible for the coordination of the Sexual Behaviors Clinic. Specific duties are as follows:
- Responsible for the coordination of the Phallometric (PPG) Testing Lab including: Administer and monitor physiological assessment
- Administer the standardized PPG stimulus software
- Maintenance, cleaning, and hygiene of the PPG testing lab
- Administer and score the sexual behavior clinic assessment battery including: Sexual offender specific risk assessment instruments
- Objective and clinician-rated assessments for determining sexual interest (e.g., viewing-time) and other relevant offender needs
- Self-report assessments for determining sexual interests and treatment need.
- Participate in program evaluation and research which may include: Literature reviews to ensure adherence to best practices
- Data collection and analysis
- Grant writing and submission (to generate additional funds)
- Conducting needs assessments to assist in planning, organizing, and delivering effective assessment and treatment
- Responsible for escorting/supervision of patients related to PPG testing
- Responsible for documentation in clinical files, reports and other as required
- Responsible for participation/provision of therapeutic interventions, groups and individual as required
- Participation in treatment conference as required
- Maintain up to date knowledge and practice of program policies and procedures and applicable legislation
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the ROHCG
- Ensure a work environment that is conducive to the ROHCG Respectful Workplace policy.
**Qualifications**:
- BA in psychology
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a secure corrections / forensic setting
- Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness who have been (are) in conflict with the Criminal Justice system
- Satisfactory Police Records Check, for vulnerable sector.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team setting
- Knowledge of the MHA, SDMA, HCCA and other relevant legislation
- Demonstrate ability to work both independently and in a professional inter-disciplinary team environment
- Conflict resolution skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
**Salary Range**:
- 32.06 to 35.17 per hour**Additional Information**
