MHSW-Moose Jaw delivers a mixture of BLS, ALS and MIH service delivery in both an urban & rural environment utilizing both on-call & on-site deployment. As the population & economy of the city and surrounding area of Moose Jaw grows, so does the need for paramedic service delivery & the professionals who deliver it. We are looking for one Advanced Care Paramedic to fill a permanent full time vacancy. Currently, the shifts are 12hrs working a 5-5-4 rotation.
The position entails, but is not limited to the following:
- Independent primary clinical care.
- Safe transportation of individuals, including emergency and non-emergency responses, as well as inter-facility transfers.
- Maintain and operate ambulances and related equipment in accordance with patient needs and public safety.
- Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Advanced Care Paramedics are based on the current National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP), the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics registration requirements and Medavie Health Services West policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Must meet all legislated requirements for Advanced Care Paramedics in Saskatchewan.
- Must be in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
- Must submit with resume a copy (front and back) of a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 Driver's License (or equivalent).
- Must submit with resume a current ACLS, ITLS and CPR C for Health Care Providers.
- Must submit with resume a current (within last 30 days) valid and clean criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.
- Must submit with resume a current (within last 30 days) driver’s abstract.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
- Must have a high regard for confidentiality.
- Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism
Please note: Related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as they become necessary to the operation of Medavie Health Services West. Also, other competencies related to changes in NOCP guidelines as approved by the Provincial Medical Director may also be added to the duties and responsibilities of this classification.
