**SUMMER STUDENT - Information Technology (IT) Analyst 2023**:
**_Duration: Eight weeks_**

**Number of positions: 1**

**Hours/week: 35 hours per week**

**Wage: $17.50 per hour**

**Mission statement**:_ _**_Rygiel Supports for Community Living serves people who have a developmental disability and multiple handicaps. The services are determined by a person’s individual needs and are designed to enable each person to be a fulfilled participatory member of the community._

This role will work directly assisting the IT Support Specialist in an array of hardware and software tasks. The successful incumbent will offer level 1 help desk support to employees and assist the people supported by Rygiel with their technology needs (connectivity, etc.). Additionally, this role will help to implement various IT related initiatives in the sphere of cyber security, privacy and accountability. It will help to establish an inventory and tracking system of all IT assets and their life cycle, status of maintenance, repairs and replacement.

The Summer Student Information Technology (IT) Analyst will work in a manner which effectively models and reinforces RYGIEL’s established Vision, Mission, Values, attitudes and standards of support.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Current Criminal Reference Check - vulnerable sector
- Currently a full time student in a relevant post-secondary education (University or Community College) and/or returning to full time school in the fall of 2023
- Meets the eligibility criteria to qualify for wage subsidy with the Canada Summer Jobs program for the 2023 year
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom and PC troubleshooting
- IT knowledge and/or education in hardware and equipment
- Networking experience and knowledge of various assistive devices
- Ongoing commitment to and participation in continuous learning
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and availability of a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage is an asset
- Proof of vaccination is required

**JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES**

- Maintaining constructive, open, honest, two-way communication with the individuals being supported, support staff, management and other team members
- Demonstrated oral and written English language proficiency appropriate to the language requirements of the position and specific to the individuals being supported. Fluency in French is an asset.
- Organizes and completes tasks independently under the supervision of the designated department manager

Problem Solving/Decision Making
- Systematically seeking alternative solutions to identify or anticipate problems and to respond to emerging opportunities or needs
- Making appropriate decisions regarding actions to be taken in consultation with other team members

Availability
- Monday to Friday - day shift at the specific, assigned work site (this is not a remote position)
- Willingness to be flexible and adjust working schedules according to the needs of the role and the agency
