Converting Machine Operator

**Responsibilities**:
The Converting Machine Operator of **pouch bagging and wicketed bagging** reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for:

- Reviewing Job Orders

Each job order differs, requiring the operator to set job, install different parts and WIP supplies; reviews each job order in advance and adjust as needed; aligns to specifications of proofing, ticketing, measurement, quantity, and quality control standards.
- Installing or Removing Parts and Supplies

The operator installs or removes parts and supplies, such as rollers, screens, and cylinders, according to specification tasks; loads, positions, and adjusts materials to be converted; works in conjunction with the material handler for supply staging.
- Cleaning the Converting Machine

The operator ensures the Machine continues to work properly, responsible for cleaning procedures as specified by the employer.
- Monitoring Production

The operator consistently monitors production runs to ensure quality, performs necessary press adjustments to registration, monitors production to ensure scheduled expectation.
- Performing Preventative Maintenance

The operator performs daily press maintenance and reports preventative maintenance, request to Supervisor and maintenance; this includes large, small repairs and components replacements.
- Troubleshooting Equipment Issues

The operator endeavors to understand well the press to effectively troubleshoot the presented issues, follows documented preventative best practices and safety guidelines.

**Qualifications**:

- Basic math skills | Ability to lift to 50 pounds without assistance on a frequent basis.
- Strong attention to detail | Effective interpersonal skills | Able to distinguish colors.
- Excellent English verbal & writing communication skills | Excellent time management.
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools |Production and processing knowledge.
- Legally allowed to work in Canada.

**Preferred**:

- 2+ years experiences in pouch bagging and wicketed bagging | Excellent attendance.
- Able to work shift work or Over-Time when required | Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to work efficiently with mínimal supervision | Customer service and safety focused.
- Organized | Accurate | Efficient | Team player | Reliable | Personal accountability.
- Flexible | Continuous improvement mind-set | Growth mind-set.

**Schedule**:

- Monday - Friday - 6:00am-2:30pm (Over Time as Required).
